Abstract: The knowledge of Yoga begins to work on the furthest aspect of the personality, the physical body. Yoga aims at bringing the different bodily functions into perfect coordination so that they work for the good of the whole body. From the corporeal body, Yoga transfers on to the mental and emotional levels. The practice of Yoga prevents psychosomatic disorders and improves an individual’s resistance and ability to endure worrying situations. A number of renowned philosophers have defined Yoga as procedures or technique can help the man to break through the habit patterns of his ordinary consciousness and enables him to realize his own distinctiveness to unite with the ultimate reality. Thus, from practical point of view- Yoga can be defined as a systematized set of practices through which one can attain super-natural powers by the development of absorption.
