Abstract: Determining the zeta potential for various salt types at various concentrations and pH levels was the primary goal of this effort. In order to establish a relationship between the kind and concentration of ions and the membrane's active surface charge (Xm). Using the measure zeta potential, the Gouy-Chapman equation and the simplified Grahame equation were used to estimate the membrane surface charge density (σs). The active surface charge (Xm) of the membrane was then determined.
