Abstract:
Background: Respiratory therapy plays a crucial role in managing dyspnea and improving quality of life in palliative care patients with advanced respiratory diseases. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of respiratory therapy interventions in this patient population.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted involving 100 adult patients with advanced respiratory diseases receiving palliative care. Respiratory therapy interventions were provided, and dyspnea severity and quality of life were assessed before and after interventions.
Results: Various respiratory therapy interventions led to significant improvements in dyspnea severity (p < 0.001) and quality of life (p < 0.001) among participants.
Conclusion: Respiratory therapy interventions are effective in managing dyspnea and improving quality of life in palliative care patients with advanced respiratory diseases, highlighting the importance of integrating respiratory therapy into palliative care practice.
