Abstract: Big Data is essentially data sets that are extremely large, complex and convoluting which traditional methods or systems can not decipher. Big Data Analytics (BDA) is the process of analyzing and processing vast amounts of data which is then interpreted or decrypted to provide actionable insights. Sports organizations that want to collect and process this data need rapid and innovative solutions for data processing and analysis. This penetration is being leveraged by eSports companies and executives around the world for improved decision making. This paper will provide an insight on how Big Data is being used in eSports industry to gain a competitive edge, case studies and limitations.
