Abstract: This white paper examines the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the field of auditing. It highlights the importance of comprehensive training and skill development to empower auditors with the knowledge and tools necessary to excel in an AI-driven environment. By addressing current challenges and identifying key areas for development, this paper aims to bridge the gap in technical proficiency and enhance the integration of AI in auditing processes. The paper emphasizes the crucial need for a proactive approach to developing comprehensive training programs and fostering essential skills within the auditing profession. By providing auditors with necessary knowledge and proficiency to effectively leverage AI technologies, the paper aims to address the existing gap in technical capabilities. It explores how addressing current challenges, such as data quality, algorithmic bias, and the "black box" problem, while identifying key areas for technological advancement, can ensure the seamless and ethical integration of AI within auditing practices. Ultimately, this paper provides a roadmap for the auditing profession to navigate the complexities of AI adoption, paving the way for enhanced audit quality, efficiency, and resilience in the digital age.
