Abstract: This study investigates the profound influence of digital media and social networks on investment decision-making. The rapid expansion of online communication platforms has redefined how information is disseminated and processed by both retail and institutional investors. The paper explores how platforms like Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, and Telegram shape investment sentiment, foster herding behavior, and amplify both rational and irrational market movements. Through a combination of survey data, content analysis, and event studies, we demonstrate the mechanisms by which social networks alter financial behavior. The findings highlight benefits, risks, and policy considerations relevant to regulators, platforms, and investors.
