Abstract: The present study investigates teaching effectiveness and pedagogical practices in secondary level tribal schools of West Bengal from a socio-educational perspective. The study aims to examine the instructional methods adopted by teachers and their influence on classroom learning and educational outcomes. A quantitative research design was employed, and data were collected from 320 teachers through a structured questionnaire. Statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and t-test were used for data analysis. The findings revealed that learner-centered teaching, classroom interaction, activity-based learning, and inclusive pedagogical practices positively influence teaching effectiveness and student engagement in tribal schools. The study also identified infrastructural limitations and lack of ICT facilities as major challenges affecting pedagogical quality. The research emphasizes the importance of teacher training, innovative instructional strategies, and institutional support for improving the quality of tribal secondary education in West Bengal.
