Abstract: Women's economic empowerment is an important goal of rural development in India. The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), popularly known as Aajeevika, has played a significant role in promoting self-help groups (SHGs) among rural women. Through savings, credit facilities, skill development, and livelihood opportunities, SHGs aim to improve the economic and social position of women. This study examines the role of Aajeevika in enhancing women's economic empowerment in Shamli District of Uttar Pradesh.
