Abstract: This paper presents an in-depth review of user-centric design approaches in the development of IoT prototypes for smart agriculture. It explores how integrating user feedback throughout the hardware and software development process enhances the adoption and efficiency of agricultural technologies. By analyzing recent implementations of smart farming systems, this study shows the importance of the role of iterative design in improving system usability, productivity, and resource efficiency. The findings show that user-centric principles not only ensure technological relevance but also promote sustainable agricultural practices. This review provides actionable insights for researchers and developers aiming to create effective IoT-based solutions tailored to the needs of the farming community.
